Family Foundation Giving Trends 2014

Family Foundation Giving Trends 2014

News (UK)

The Association of Charitable Foundations recently marked the launch of its 6th edition Family Foundation Giving Trends report and delivered some of its key findings to the attendees at our 1st July roundtable discussion hosted in London by J.P. Morgan.

The audience of financial advisers, philanthropists and fundraisers heard talks from two report authors Cathy Pharoah and Richard Jenkins, as well as Cath Tillotson (Scorpio Partnership) and Alana Petraske (Withers LLP). There were a range of themes introduced throughout the presentations, including giving trends of family foundations, typical income and assets, the importance of social impact for HNWIs across the world, and the practical concerns of working as a foundation.

The event Chair, Tom Rutherford (J.P. Morgan), also led a panel discussion drawing on points examining the role of government, the impact of smaller foundations, managing resources in family offices, establishing a dialogue about philanthropy and social investment between advisers and clients, plus concerns for young people and regional representation in the field.
